Mrs. Kern, 78, of East Brunswick, formerly of Edison, died Aug. 10, 2008, in Saint Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was a registered nurse for 59 years, most recently for Dr. Idelma Kulischenko and Dr. Alex Kulischenko, East Brunswick. Prior to that, she was employed for 40 years with GBM Medical Group, New Brunswick. Her husband, Wilbur J. Kern, died in 1994. Surviving are a daughter, Deborah Trenta of East Brunswick; a son, Gary Kern, and his wife, Melissa, of Jacksonville, Fla.; her twin sister, Jean Hasara of Murrells Inlet, S.C.; a brother, Timothy Kluchinsky Sr. of Maryland; a cousin, Alice Iacono of East Brunswick; and five grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew’s Church, East Brunswick. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
