Second annual Buckelew 5K changed to Oct. 4

The Jamesburg Revitalization Coalition’s second annual Buckelew 5K foot race has been rescheduled to Oct. 4. The race will begin at 8:30 a.m. in Thompson Park, with registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. The cost to participate is $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the race. Participants will receive a T-shirt, free beverages and a “goodie bag” filled with special offers, gifts and discounts from local merchants.

Pre-registration is available on www.ilovejamesburg.com and www.jamesburg. net. Race forms are also available in town at the offices of Monroe Chiropractic Care, 15 East Railroad Ave., and other borough merchants, as well as the coalition’s booth at the weekly Jamesburg Farmers Market, held on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Last year’s Buckelew 5K attracted more than 100 runners and walkers. This year’s course is the same challenging, diverse terrain within the park, on asphalt. All skill levels and ages are encouraged to compete for the fun of racing and to benefit the borough’s revitalization effort. For additional information, or to become a corporate sponsor, call Race Chairperson Dr. Debra DeMarco of Monroe Chiropractic Care, 732-521-1333 or e-mail monroechiro@ aol.com, or call coalition President Elliott Stroul at 732-512-7417. Proceeds from the race, after expenses, will benefit the coalition’s efforts to beautify Jamesburg and preserve its village charm.
