Red Bank Public Library, 84 W. Front St., will resume adult programming in the renovated Eisner Memorial Library with two programs on Taoism and meditation.
Anna Wong and Dr. Lu Ping will give a program on Chinese calligraphic art and Taoist culture and philosophy 7-8:30 p.m. Sept. 24. Dr. Lu will demonstrate examples of the 7,000-year-old calligraphy and explain pictographic development and meaning. The duo will also discuss Taoisthealing arts of feng shui, qigong, acupuncture and nutrition.
Wong will discuss the body/mind connection in the practice of meditation and how it promotes healing, reduces pain and stress, assists with weight loss, and promotes inner peace and well-being, 7-8:30 p.m. Oct. 15.
Dr. Lu is a traditional Chinese doctor and qigong master. Wong is a Silva Mind Dynamics-certified lecturer and has been trained in both Chinese and Indian healing and spiritual traditions.
