Israeli art, N.J. photos coming to E.B. temple

A Festival of Israeli Art is planned for Sept. 11-14 at Temple B’nai Shalom, Fern and Old Stage roads, East Brunswick. The show and sale, which comes direct from Safrai Gallery, Jerusalem, will feature a collection of 1,500 works of art by 100 well-known Israeli artists. Original oil paintings, watercolors, lithographs and etchings will be on display. Interested individuals should check the Web site at www.bnaishalom.com for special times each day for browsing.

In addition, the temple will host a traveling and celebratory photography exhibit created by the New Jersey-Israel Commission, Trenton. The display, which highlights the close ties through the years between New Jersey and Israel beginning in 1988 with Gov. Tom Kean to the present, is made up of photos, documents and news articles.

Admission to both exhibits is free of charge to all.
