More than 100 people turned out last week to help celebrate the grand opening of the new Mercer County Republican Committee headquarters, located at 941 Whitehorse Ave. in Hamilton.
Remarks were offered by state Sen. Bill Baroni (R-14), former Hamilton Mayor Jack Rafferty and Mercer County Republican Committee Chairman Roy Wesley at the grand opening ceremony on Saturday.
An assortment of Mercer County Republican candidates, including Jim McSorley, who is running for Mercer County sheriff and freeholder candidates Cindy Randazzo and Tom White, also were on hand.
The permanent Republican Committee headquarters also will serve as the Mercer County headquarters for the Republican presidential ticket of U.S. Sen. John McCain and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, Mr. Wesley said.
Robbinsville Township Mayor David Fried is the Mercer County campaign chairman and Michael Carnevale is the Mercer County campaign coordinator for the McCain-Palin ticket, Mr. Wesley said.
In addition to serving as the McCain campaign headquarters for Mercer County, the Republican Committee headquarters will serve as the campaign headquarters for countywide candidates and “as a resource for other Republican candidates running for office now and in the future,” Mr. Wesley said.
”It will provide a base for the Republican Party in Mercer County,” he said of the new headquarters. “From here, our volunteers and supporters will reach out to voters across the county and let them know there are Republican candidates to vote for on Election Day.”
