Supporters made Gift of Life event a success

The Rotary Club of South River-East Brunswick would like to express our thanks to so many people, including the Sentinel, for supporting our Gift of Life fundraising effort. We had a highly successful gourmet dinner with a live auction and live music from the musicians of Take2 and of course the fine chefs of restaurants such as Jeffrey’s of Westfield, Frog and the Peach, Clydz, Harvest Moon Brewery, Verdigre, Hannah & Mason’s, and the Pines Manor.

Our fundraising efforts significantly exceeded our goals and in this economic environment, that is saying a lot. I think it shows that a good cause, such as the Gift of Life program, does bring out the best in people. For example, one of our live auction items, a gourmet cake made by Vikki at Mad About Sweets, sold to the highest bidder for over $1,100.

With the funds raised, we will be able to help several children by providing life-saving heart surgeries. So, thanks to all of our supporters and members for a job well done.
