The Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi, Elm Street, Metuchen, will mark World Mission Sunday on Oct. 19 — a day to recommit to the Catholic Church’s missionary activities through prayer and service. Those who wish to participate should meet at 10:45 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi School. There will be a walkathon through Main Street and Library Place and then return to the cathedral, where Bishop Paul G. Bootkoski will celebrate the noon Mass. Bishop Anthony Neethinathan of Chingleput, India, will be the guest homilist.
