Mr. Schlueter, 82, of South Amboy, died Nov. 14, 2008, in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Prior to his retirement in 1992, he was employed as the chief of communications for Associated Press, New York City and East Brunswick, where he worked for 40 years. His wife, Eleanor, died in 2005. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Donna Schlueter and James and Amalia Schlueter; three daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Michael Capozzi, Ginger and Mark Roman and Susan and Jeffrey Donnelly; a brother, John Schlueter; and 12 grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Arrangements were under the direction of Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge.
