Tommaso Iadevaia

Mr. Iadevaia, 86, of Ellicott City, Md., formerly of South River and Monroe, died Dec. 13, 2008, at home. He was the founder and owner of Tommaso Iadevaia and Sons Contracting Co., ultimately establishing the firm’s Monroe nursery that he operated for 37 years before his retirement in 1993. His wife, Antoinetta Posillco Iadevaia, died in October, and a son, Michael Iadevaia, died in 1981. Surviving are a son, Vincent, and his wife, Anna, of Monroe; a daughter, Rosa Thierer, and her husband, Andrew, of Ellicott City; a daughter-in-law, Rosa Iadevaia; three brothers, Vincent Iadevaia, and his wife, Antoinetta, of South River, the Rev. Antonio Iadevaia of Italy and John Iadevaia, and his wife, Angelina, of East Brunswick; two sisters, Rose Stasi of Old Bridge and Mary Pescurella, and her husband, Luigi, of East Brunswick; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation is set for 7-9 p.m. Dec. 18 and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Dec. 19 at M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe. A funeral liturgy will be offered at 10 a.m. Dec. 20 at St. James the Less Church, Jamesburg. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
