Mr. Zera, 96, of South River, died Dec. 14, 2008, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Prior to his retirement in 1974, he was employed as a shift foreman with National Lead, Sayreville, where he worked for more than 36 years. Surviving are his wife, Katharine Scupp Zera; a daughter, Toni Schlegel, and her husband, Charles, of Washington Township; and a granddaughter. A Mass was offered at St. Stephen Protomartyr Church, South River. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Brunswick. Arrangements were under the direction of Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River.
