Mrs. Silva, 76, of South River, died Dec. 20, 2008, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Portugal, Spain, she immigrated to the United States 30 years ago, settling in South River. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima Church, South River. Mrs. Silva is survived by her husband of 58 years, Manuel; her children and their spouses, Manny and Lynn Silva and Vera and Joseph Adelino, all of South River; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her siblings, Georgelio Lucas of Old Bridge, and Rosa Lucas, Manuel Lucas and Joao Lucas, all of Brazil; and her honorary grandchildren, Sophia Ricardo and Gil Parracho of Old Bridge. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Roman Catholic Church, followed by burial at Washington Monumental Cemetery, both in South River. The Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River, was in charge of arrangements.
