Local woman serves in governor’s office

Gov. Jon S. Corzine has named Jaimee Gilmartin director of operations for the governor’s office. Gilmartin will oversee the dayto day functions of the governor’s office. She was previously director of appointments for the governor’s office and prior to that she was director of operations and communications for the state Department of Banking and Insurance, where she also served as assistant commissioner for public affairs.

According to a press release from the governor’s office, Gilmartin has a long history of public service in New Jersey, having served as projects assistant for U.S. Senator Frank R. Lautenberg; deputy chief of staff for Sen. Richard Codey; public information officer and legislative liaison for the state Department of Treasury; assistant commissioner for the state Department of Banking and Insurance; and director of appointments for the governor’s office.

Gilmartin will replace Jose Lozano, who will move to the Office of Homeland Security.

Gilmartin is a resident of Freehold.
