Mr. Podgorski, 88, of St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of New Brunswick and Monroe, died Jan. 5, 2009, in Palm Gardens, Largo, Fla. He once served on the Monroe Township Board of Education and worked part-time as a patrolman with the Monroe Township Police Department. He was predeceased by his first wife, Ruth Podgorski, and by his second wife, Jean Broderick. Surviving are four daughters, Janet Austin of Helmetta, Joyce Blaise, and her husband, Larry, of Newbern, N.C., Sharon Cycak, and her husband, Donald, of the Toms River section of Dover and Marian Weising, and her husband, Bill, of Monroe; 10 grandchildren; and eight greatgrandchildren. A Mass was offered at Nativity of Our Lord Church, Monroe. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Arrangements were under the direction of Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick.
