RED BANK — For the sixth consecutive year since the school’s founding, the West Side Christian Academy in Red Bank will participate in the International African American Read-In Chain.
The free Red Bank event will take place on Monday, Feb. 2, 9:30 a.m.-noon and 1 -3 p.m., at the Calvary Baptist Church, 23 River St., Red Bank (corner of Bridge Avenue).
“We hold this read-in every year because I want the kids to connect reading and writing. Their ideas and words can be put into print and shared with other people around the world,” said teacher and program organizer Jeff Jackson.
Joining the students in grades K-12 will be business owners from the Red Bank RiverCenter District as they celebrate Black History Month.
