RUMSON — The Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) will present an evening of teen nutrition and fitness information with Dr. Felicia D. Stoler, a consultant in nutrition and healthy living, at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10.
The evening’s focus, “B-3 — Look Your Best, Feel Your Best, Be Your Best — It All Begins with Good Nutrition,” will address how food choices affect the ways that teens look and perform.
The program will take place in the auditorium of the school, located at 74 Ridge
Road in Rumson.
Stoler will talk about establishing healthy eating habits and making good food choices. She will also discuss eating disorders, emotional eating, vegan and vegetarian diets, the benefits of exercise, and the
effects of stress, drugs, alcohol and caffeine on the teen body.
She is a registered dietician and exercise physiologist who has hosted the Learning Channel’s “Honey, We’re Killing the Kids,” a television series that gives parents the consequences of continuing with their present lifestyle, dietary and exercise habits by showing what their children may look like as adults.
Her credentials include: media resource for ABC News; member of the medical advisory board of GNC General Nutrition Centers; fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine; and doctor of clinical nutrition at University of Medicine and Dentistry- New Jersey (UMDNJ).
Stoler will answer questions from the audience at the end of the presentation and provide suggestions for credible nutrition Web sites and more. The event is open to the public. The suggested donation is a nonperishable, healthful food item to be donated to the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties in Neptune.
