Mr. Maher, 83, of Red Bank, died Feb. 28, 2009, at Columbia Hospital, West Palm Beach, Fla. He had resided in Colts Neck before relocating to Red Bank 50 years ago. He owned and operated Hugh Maher and Son Enterprises, Red Bank, for 50 years. Mr. Maher was predeceased by three brothers, Thomas F. Maher, Joseph Carton “Stretch” Maher, and John “Jack” Maher; and two sisters, Veronica Herbert and Kathleen Maher. He is survived by his wife, Monika Stold Maher; a son, Bill Maher of Red Bank; a daughter, Monica Maher Junge of Apollo Beach, Fla.; and a brother, Edward Maher of Monmouth County. Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank.
