Clifton Max Jensen

Mr. Jensen, 93, of Red Bank, died March 17, 2009. He served with the U.S. Navy for 22 years, and achieved the ranks of chief electrician, chief petty officer and chief warrant officer, and participated in battles that included Guadalcanal, and the Solomon Islands, the Philippines and at Bougainville aboard the USS Whitney. During retirement, he was employed in sales at Duncan Parking Meters, and Koontz Equipment Corporation, retiring at age 74. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Alice Theresa Salem. He is survived by two daughters, Judith Jensen Duverger of Red Bank, and Lucy of Los Angeles; a son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Kathy of Groveland, Mass.; a twin sister, Afton Boyle of Idaho Falls, Idaho; a brother, Alan of Salt Lake City, Utah; and four grandchildren. A funeral service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints, Eatontown. Interment followed at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank.
