HILLSBOROUGH: Committee OK’s Municipal Alliance programs

   The Township Committee unanimously approved a resolution April 14 to award contracts for municipal alliance services for programs presented by the Hillsborough-Millstone Municipal Alliance.
   The Municipal Alliance provides anti-drug and smoking programs for schools, as well as other programs teaching students to make healthy lifestyle choices. The programs are funded by fines collected by courts for crimes involving drugs and alcohol.
   Ellen Stoddard will present BABES educational programs to Hillsborough third graders in an amount not to exceed $4,900, and Jane Fidacoro will assist in these programs for an amount not to exceed $2,200.
   Anna Mahler will perform parent leadership and training programs, for an amount not to exceed $175, as well as providing STAND program services for an amount not to exceed $500.
   Lisa Gulla will coordinate fiscal activities, serve as liaison to the Somerset County Department of Human Services and provide services in conjunction with the Girls on Track program for an amount not to exceed $4,000.
   Diane Handwerk will coordinate Life Skills services in an amount not to exceed $6,700; Gil Pilarte will provide for student assistance programs for an amount not to exceed $1,000; and Aime Casagrande and Toby Casagrande will provide for the Student Leadership Corps program, for an amount not to exceed $1,000 each.
   Amelia Carella will provide PRIDE program services in an amount not to exceed $1,000, as well as Girls on Track program services in an amount not to exceed $2,000. James Durham will also work with PRIDE for an amount not to exceed $1,000.
   Heather Quackenbush will provide STAND program services for an amount not to exceed $500.
   Alexis Rizzuto, Rozlyn Adams and Kathleen Morris will all provide Girls on Track program services for an amount not to exceed $2,000 each.
   John Moreno will provide DIRT-HHS program services for an amount not to exceed $3,000, and Mike Wincester will provide PUSH Training program services for an amount not to exceed $1,800.
   ”These are all very important in Hillsborough’s prevention efforts,” Mayor Frank DelCore said.
