COLTS NECK — Representatives of the Trump National Golf Club recently hosted an invitation-only gathering to provide an up-close look at the potential of their new and growing facilities.
Donald Trump greeted guests and discussed the many improvements planned for this leisure complex.
"A rising tide raises all ships," said Glen Dalakian, president of the Colts Neck Business Association. "There are many ways in which the Trump organization has enhanced our business district. Bringing new opportunities to the area is substantial, but another is their incredible hospitality as neighbors."
Dalakian said Trump National’s general manager, John Roberts, and other staff members have shown great interest in and support of the Colts Neck community and the businesses around town. He said one of the first things the organization did after acquiring the 425-acre golf course off Route 34 was join the Colts Neck Business Association (CNBA).
The CNBA has more than 180 members.
According to a press release, one of the CNBA’s goals is to help new businesses like Trump National acclimate to the area. In addition to many events centered throughout the business district, the CNBA has formed an Economic Development Committee headed by Jon Jervert, which is focused on assisting businesses to make the best decisions about their future before, as well as after they get started.
"Working as a team to support local business owners and sharing valuable information to enhance their prospects for success have been driving factors to our committee" Jervert said.
Other recent businesses joining the Colts Neck community include Studio V, a new health studio facility.
"We have been so pleased with the response of the CNBA and its members in support of business in Colts Neck. As a long-time resident, I did not realize how much support was available in our community," said Vicky DeRosa, the owner of the newly opened Studio V Mind Body and Soul.
Sherri Hiller, the owner of Chocolate Legends, came to the CNBA as she was getting her new business off the ground.
"Knowing other business owners in town has helped me meet new prospective clients and the information and support I receive as a CNBA member has been most helpful," Hiller said.
The CNBA is led by president Glen J. Dalakian; vice presidents Sarah Bandy and Raymond Shebell; secretaries Timothy Schwartz and Monica Vermeulen; and treasurer Sal Barbagallo. The group is advised by Colts Neck residents and CNBA founders Mario Geneve and Silvan Lutkewitte.
The CNBA meets on the second Wednesday of every month from 8-9 a.m. at the Colts Neck Library. Anyone who has an interest in Colts Neck is invited to attend a meeting.
"We continue to explore ways to better communicate with our membership and provide them with tools that can improve their endeavors," said Sarah Bandy, vice president of communications for the CNBA.
