Journalist to discuss freedom of the press

Journalist Charles Wiley will offer a presentation titled “Freedom of the Press” at an event set for 2 p.m. April 26 at the East Brunswick Public Library, Jean Walling Civic Center. The event is sponsored by the East Brunswick Historical Society.

Wiley has had an extensive career in the media and the military. As a journalist, he has covered 11 wars, including Vietnam, and has reported for NBC, United Press International (UPI) and the London Express. He was arrested eight times by various secret police, including the KGB, and was imprisoned in Castro’s Cuba.
