EAST WINDSOR: Bus stops added in township

EAST WINDSOR — The Route 130 Connection bus service has added new stops in the township.
The service, which runs from the Hamilton Station NJ Transit bus stop to BASF in South Brunswick, will expand with stops at the Town Center Plaza and at the intersection of Hickory Corner Road and Route 33, near the Wal-Mart shopping center.
”For many years, we have advocated to Mercer County and other officials the need to expand public transportation in this part of the county,” Mayor Mironov said Wednesday. “There has been ridership on this line, and it is growing. I hope it continues to grow more.”
Several other stops along the route also were added, including one at the Hamilton Marketplace shopping center. A few stops were removed, including one at the former Minute Maid plant in Hightstown, Mayor Mironov said.
County Executive Brian Hughes praised the expansion of the service in a press release.
”In this economy, our residents need all the assistance they can get when it comes to getting to work or finding work,” he said. “With more stops and at a cost of just $1 per ride, the Route 130 Connection is a big help to more and more of our residents.”
A detailed schedule of the service can be found at www.nj.gov/counties/mercer/pdfs/bus_schedule.pdf as well as on the East Windsor Township Web site.
