Chelsea is drop-off site for food drive

The Chelsea at East Brunswick, 680 Cranbury Road, is collecting nonperishable food items through July 5 for a statewide drive to benefit the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. Donations may be dropped off in the Chelsea main lobby.

The following items are sought: canned fish/meat; powdered milk and infant formulas;

boxed meals (pasta, potatoes, rice);

canned meals (macaroni and cheese, chili, stews, meaty soups);

peanut butter (plastic jars only);

canned fruit and vegetables.

Donors are asked to check expiration dates. Items in glass or cellophane will not be accepted.

The Community FoodBank operates emergency food pantries, soup kitchens and feeding programs for seniors and children across New Jersey. The food drive is organized by the Health Care Association of New Jersey, an umbrella group of long-term care facilities, including Chelsea assisted living communities.
