Christie Rampone, captain of the U.S. Women’s Soccer National Team is conducting two soccer camps in June and July for girls in grades 2-8. The Christie Rampone and K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital Girl’s Soccer Camp will be held June 8-12 and July 6-10 from 5- 8 p.m. at Sunshine Village Park Fields in Neptune. Christie has been a member of the U.S. Women’s National Team since 1997, and now is helping pioneer a new women’s professional soccer league. Over a 13-year career, she has played for numerous international coaches, club coaches, and worked with incredible trainers. All these instructors have helped Christie create a database of soccer, fitness and coaching information. These camps will combine different philosophies and teach many of her favorite topics like coachability, creativity, translation, confidence and leadership. The cost for each camp is $185 per player. The South Brunswick Athletic Association (SBAA) is sponsoring its first annual coaches baseball game 6:30 p.m. May 30 at Rowland Park, Broadway Road. Softball and baseball coaches from all township leagues will participate. The event will include food, prizes, games, music and more. The 2009 Greyhound Basketball camps will be held at Moravian College, Bethlehem, Pa. A day and overnight camp for boys ages 8-18 will run July 12-16.
