• Proceeds Night, sponsored by Our Lady of Lourdes School, Milltown, 5-9 p.m., at TGI Friday’s, Route 1 south, North Brunswick. Restaurant will donate 20 percent of each supporter’s check (eat-in or takeout) to the school. Diners must present event flier for donation to count. • Bedtime Bags Drive, sponsored by the Junior Woman’s Club of the Greater Brunswick Area. Seeking donations of new children’s books, pajamas, stuffed animals and small blankets to be used in creating Bedtime Bags that will be donated to Foster and Adoptive Family Services. Bedtime Bags encourage foster parents to read bedtime stories with their foster children, helping to bond foster families together and boost children’s literacy skills. • Spring-Into-Summer Book Sale, sponsored by the Spotswood Public Library, during regular operating hours, at the library, 548 Main St. Hardcover books, paperbacks, children’s books, VHS videos, audiocassettes. Paperbacks sell for 50 cents each or three for $1, hardcovers for $1 and up, VHS videos for $1. All-You-Can- Carry-for-$10 Sale on the last two days of event, June 15 and 16. All sales final. • Tricky-Tray Raffle, to benefit the Lesley Carness and Jon Mustafa Memorial Scholarship Fund, sponsored by the East Brunswick Elks Club, 6-10 p.m., at the Elks home, 21 Oakmont Ave., East Brunswick. Fund named in honor of Lesley and Jon, a young couple from East Brunswick who died as the result of injuries sustained in an April 2007 car crash. Scholarships go to two East Brunswick High School graduating seniors to offset the cost of higher education in the culinary arts and accounting. Hot buffet dinner. Grand door prize is a 42-inch plasma television. One free entry for the grand door prize with each paid dinner ticket; must be present to win. Additional raffle tickets available for other prizes including theater tickets, New York Giants tickets, restaurant gift certificates. Admission is $25 per adult, $15 per student, in advance; age 12 and under admitted free of charge. If still available, tickets may be purchased at the door: $30 per adult, $20 per student. • Car Wash, sponsored by South River Boy Scout Troop No. 4, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., at the South River Elks Lodge, Main Street. Cost is $5 for cars, $7 for vans and pickups. Proceeds go toward new equipment and summer-camp expenses.

• Cash-for-Gold Party, sponsored by the East Brunswick Baseball League 12- Year-Old Cooperstown Baseball Team, “The Green Machine,” 3:30-7:30 p.m., at Via Dolce Café and Gelateria, Route 18, near Shogun. G&W Jewelers, Milltown, will pay cash for guests’ unwanted gold jewelry. Each guest receives a $20 gift certificate to G&W and more. Via Dolce’s gelatos and desserts available for purchase. • Immaculate Conception Church Carnival, 5-11 p.m. June 16-19, 4-11 p.m. June 20, on the church grounds, 23 Manalapan Road, Spotswood. Rides and games of chance; beer garden; food pavilion with specials (June 17, pulled pork; June 18, barbecued ribs; June 19, fish fry); zeppole, ice cream, funnel cakes, fried Oreos; live nightly entertainment featuring local bands and dance performances; radio stations New Jersey 101.5-FM and WPLJ 95.5-FM providing music, trivia, games. Winner of the Big-Bucks Raffle ($100 per ticket, only 3,000 sold) drawn June 19; winner need not be present. Live entertainment by Route 9 South, Ridgemont High, Thundercreek Bluegrass Band, Academy of Music Kids Rock Bands. Bracelet Nights 6-10 p.m. June 16 and 18 — pay one price and ride all night.
