Jessie Armstead, a former member of the New York Giants, and owner of Hamilton Honda, celebrated the grand opening of Hamilton Honda at 655 Route 130 North, Hamilton Township, on June 9.

CheckPoint HR, an adviser empowering small and medium size businesses in managing their human capital throughout the entire employee life cycle, announced that Donny Sheinwald of Marlboro has been awarded the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF) designation from the Center for Fiduciary Studies. The AIF designation signifies training in fiduciary responsibility.

Sheinwald is the director of retirement services for CheckPoint HR in Edison. He specializes in retirement planning and investments for CheckPoint HR’s mid-market customers.

The Center for Fiduciary Studies is the first full-time training and research facility for fiduciaries. The center, associated with the Center for Executive Education, Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business, University of Pittsburgh, teaches fiduciary standards of care and investment best practices designed for investment professionals. They also offer an accredited investment fiduciary analyst designation signifying the ability to perform fiduciary assessments.

New Concepts for Living (New Concepts) announced that Adam Fishman of Marlboro has been named the organization’s director of residential services. As director of residential services, he will oversee the organization’s residential services operations to ensure services are provided to consumers with developmental disabilities, provide staff training and development support, and other responsibilities. New Concepts, a community nonprofit organization based in Rochelle Park, works with people with developmental disabilities and their families throughout Bergen County.

For the past 15 years, Fishman has worked extensively in the social services field with people with developmental disabilities. Most recently, he worked with Enable, a nonprofit organization in Princeton that services individuals with disabilities and their families, as services coordinator of two group homes and oversaw a day program.

For the past seven years, Fishman has volunteered with the American Red Cross in Tinton Falls, teaching first aid and CPR.

The Freehold LeTip chapter, a networking group with more than 60 members, is seeking new members for available categories. Only one member per category is allowed. Kenneth Gurbisz, Eatontown, has been named deputy director of education and operations of the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’Memorial Foundation, Holmdel. In the newly created position, he will oversee the foundation’s operations while managing and directing education initiatives. Gurbisz, a Vietnam veteran, is a 27-year employee of PSE&G and retired in 2003. He came out of retirement to teach mathematics at the Monmouth-Ocean Educational Services Commission, Tinton Falls, and serves as an adjunct professor in management at Brookdale Community College, Middletown.
