Edison’s ‘Art in the Garden Tour’ July 18

Six residential gardens in Edison and Metuchen will be open to the public July 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the fourth annual “Art in the Garden Tour.”

Tickets are $20 and cover admission to all six gardens, plus refreshments. Children under age 10 will be admitted free of charge.

The theme is “Tots on Tour,” and the event will include activities, song and poetry designed for young children. At the starting location, each child who finds a “magic” blue pebble and tosses it into the Make A Wish Fountain will receive a nature-inspired craft to take home.

The gardens showcase different styles, and college interns of the Edison Arts Society will offer an interactive performance in each garden, impersonating master artists and briefly discussing the work of that artist.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet Dr. Jim Conroy, “The Tree Whisperer,” and Basia Alexander, general manager, “tree whispering” coach and green-centrics teacher.

Tickets may be ordered by mail from: The Edison Arts Society, 340 Raritan Center Parkway, Edison, NJ 08837, or the Brass Lantern on Main Street in Metuchen.
