An opportunity to serve seniors

grace Egan of the NJ Foundation for Aging
The mission of the New Jersey Foundation for Aging is to support innovative approaches to the delivery of services that enable older adults to live in the community with independence and dignity through grant making and increasing society’s awareness to influence public policy. NJFA’s Community Grant Program began in 2000 and has funded over 33 programs, in 17 counties.
This year the Foundation is requesting a Letter of Intent to be submitted by July 30, 2009 for any programs that wish to seek funding. The Letter of Intent should outline the services to be provided to the senior population. Priority for this grant cycle will be given to programs that focus on basic needs, including food, shelter, transportation, and healthcare. More important than any one isolated service, however, is the interplay and integration of the services in an effective combination to keep older adults as independent as possible and integrated in our communities for as long as possible. For more information about NJFA’s Community Grant Program, visit our Web site, www.njfoundationforaging.org and click on Funding Priorities/Grant Program.
Letters of Intent for the 2009 Grant Cycle are due and/or must be postmarked by July 30, 2009. Invitations to submit an application will be sent by Aug. 27, 2009. Only those invited by the Foundation may submit an application by Oct. 15, 2009. Letter of Intent and applications are accepted electronically as well as by mail. Please submit Letters of Intent by July 30 to NJFA, 176 West State St., Trenton, NJ 08608 or email to:
