Jackson food pantry sets distribution dates

JACKSON — The Jackson Women of Today will hold two separate distribution dates for the month of August.

A special distribution will be held 5-6:30 p.m. Aug. 26 for clients who are handicapped or over 60 years old. The regular distribution day will be held 5-7 p.m. Aug. 27.

Both sessions will be held in the Department of Public Works building, 10 Don Connor Blvd.

The food pantry is open to all residents of Jackson or any resident in need of emergency food. New clients who are registering must bring proper identification, a Social Security card, driver’s license, a utility bill for proof of address, proof of unemployment or income, copies of child’s birth certification and custody papers.

Food pantry patrons are asked not to enter the DPW parking lot prior to 4 p.m., so that township employees can safety exit their parking spaces. For details or emergency food, call 732-833-6800 and leave a message for Donna Sauers, director.
