Walk for Food Allergy slated for Sept. 12

The Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN) Walk for Food Allergy: Moving Toward A Cure will take place 10 a.m. Sept. 12 beginning at the great lawn north of Pier Village, Long Branch. Check in is 9 a.m.

Emcee will be Brian Thompson of News 4 New York, and honorary chair is Frank Dicopoulos, area resident and star of the soap opera “Guiding Light.” Both are fathers of children with food allergies. Following the walk, musician Ray Andersen or Mr. Ray, will headline a free concert. Magician Bruce Bray will also perform, and there will be appearances from costumed Star Wars characters from the 501st and Rebel Legions. Media sponsors include Greater Media Newspapers.
