The Millstone Trailblazers, along with the Open Space and Farmland Preservation Council, will host the Millstone River Inaugural Ride on Sept. 27. The ride is being held to celebrate the completion of the first of five trail loops, which will comprise the Millstone Trail Network.
This trail loop contains nine contiguous trails totaling 10.5 miles. Most of the trail was funded by a grant awarded to the Millstone Trailblazers by the Federal Highway Administration’s Recreation Trails Program through the state of New Jersey’s Environmental Protection Agency. The proceeds from this trail ride will go towards maintenance and completion of the remainder of the trail network.
Teams may have two or three riders. Starting times will be from 8 a.m. to noon and will be held in five-minute intervals. Times will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis and will be limited to 50 teams. The registration deadline is Sept. 10.
