Monmouth Medical Center, 300 Second Ave., Long Branch, will conduct glucose screenings 10-11:30 a.m. Sept. 8.
The free screenings will be performed by a registered nurse/certified diabetes educator and involve a simple “finger-stick” blood test. To register or for more information, call 732-923-5025.
“Taking Control of Diabetes” will be presented 6 p.m. Sept. 16 at the center. It will cover topics such as glucose control, self-management and overcoming fears. Tim Callahan of A1C Champions Program, a patient-led approach to diabetes education, will also share his personal experience with diabetes.
