WEST WINDSOR: Arts Council’s ‘Avenue of the Arts’ at MarketFair

Party, Sept. 12; arts, food, shopping, Sept. 26

    Life’s pleasures come in fours — eating, listening to music, viewing artwork and shopping. The West Windsor Arts Council will offer all these and more in a month-long celebration, “Avenue of the Arts,” at MarketFair in West Windsor.
    Feting the grand re-opening of the Michael Graves-redesigned shopping center, the September event is a major fundraiser for the West Windsor Arts Council, supporting its effort to convert the Princeton Junction Firehouse to an arts center.
    “Avenue of the Arts” is being held in cooperation with Madison Marquette and the stores at MarketFair and the West Windsor Branch of the Mercer County Library.
    “Avenue of the Arts” will include:
    • An exhibit of visual arts hanging throughout MarketFair;
    • A concurrent art exhibit at the West Windsor Library;
    • A day of music and food in center court on Sept. 26;
    • Special shopping discounts for ticket holders, and
 • A patron’s party, featuring architect Michael Graves.
    Superstar architect Michael Graves, who was awarded the National Medal of Arts in 2001, has designed buildings all over the world, including his home town of Princeton, will serve as the juror for the art exhibit, featuring local and regional artists.
