ROOSEVELT — Windy and rainy weather caused nearly 300 residents here to lose power for about nine hours late last week, according to Jersey Central Power and Light.
The outage was caused by fallen wires from downed trees on Pine Street and Rochdale Avenue, which knocked out service to 270 residents from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, said Gerry Riccardi, a JCP&L spokesman.
”We had a lot of problems in a lot of different places all over the area that day,” Mr. Riccardi added.
State police also closed a portion of Rochdale Avenue from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in order for JCP&L employees to perform repairs, Mr. Riccardi added.
