Park system programs for November

The Monmouth County Park System, will present “Sit Thee Down, Chairs That FurnishedWalnford” an exhibit Nov. 1-30 at Historic Walnford, Walnford Road, Upper Freehold. The exhibit will display a variety of chairs, both plain and fancy, that once furnished the Walnford estate throughout the 18th and 19th centuries.

The park system will release its winter directory and accept registration for winter programs beginning Nov. 4. The directory provides features about special events as well as nature, recreation and sports programs for December through February. It is available at most county parks and online.

A blacksmith demonstration will be held 1-3 p.m. Nov. 8, Music Man Rich Marzec 1- 3 p.m. Nov. 15, and a cookstove demonstration noon-2:30 p.m. Nov. 21, all at Historic Longstreet Farm, Longstreet Road, Holmdel.

“Read All About It!” will be held 1-4 p.m. Nov. 14 and 15 at Historic Walnford, Walnford Road, Upper Freehold. Attendees may view bound volumes of 19th-century newspapers.
