Manville organizations are sponsoring a Trunk R Treat on Oct. 31 for residents to have some fun for Halloween. The event will be held from 5 p.m. 8 p.m. at Manville High School in the parking lot.
Manville Recreation Director Rich Armstrong said the Recreation Department along with the Manville Youth Services, Manville Municipal Alliance, Manville High School PTSA, ABIS PTA and the Manville Band Parents are all participating in the Trunk R Treat event.
”We are having it to have a safe environment for the kids in Manville on Halloween,” said Mr. Armstrong.
Trunk R Treating is a safe way to have children trick or treat. Participants bring their cars and park them in the lot with their trunks open and have candy or goodies to hand out. Cars can also be decorated in any type of decorations and prizes will be awarded for the scariest, funniest, and the most original decorated cars.
Manville Recreation will be giving each child in costume a glow in the dark trick or treat bag and glow bracelets. A costume contest with be held at 5:30 p.m. and prizes will be awarded for each school Weston, Roosevelt, ABIS, MHS and for adults. There will be a pumpkin decorating contest with pumpkins provided the Recreation department.
There will be a haunted maze on the high school football field and it will have a $1 per person fee with all the proceeds benefiting Manville High School students.
