Approximately 100 guests attended the Oct. 23 Brick Morning Rotary Foundation dinner to honor Dr. Donald Cooper, a Rotarian for 48 years, and Michelle Eventoff, the executive director of the Brick Chamber of Commerce. The Brick Township Chamber of Commerce has announced the recipients of its Distinguished Citizens Awards for outstanding community service.
Harry Vogel of Paramount Products Co. Inc., a manufacturing company in Brick, has been named the Distinguished Individual Award recipient. Vogel has a long history of volunteer activities and has assisted numerous nonprofit organizations and community groups throughout Ocean County. He has been especially active in Brick chairing numerous boards and volunteering his time for a wide variety of community initiatives.
Flowers By Addalia will be recognized with the Business Award for years of community involvement and support of nonprofit organizations throughout Ocean County. They have provided decorations for countless nonprofit organization’s fundraisers. Owner Tom Addalia has also served in leadership positions for many of the charities in the area.
The Brick Township Police Department will be awarded for their outstanding service to the community. Brick has been ranked as one of the safest cities in the United States for several consecutive years and the police department can be credited for helping the community attain that distinction.
A special awards dinner to honor the recipients will be held Dec. 3 at the Crystal Point Yacht Club, Point Pleasant.
The Chamber of Commerce leadership team will also be installed during the program. W. Peter Daniels, president of Ocean Medical Center, will be installed as president of the business organization.

Casey Fagan, a 2004 graduate of Brick Memorial High School and a 2008 graduate of The Richard Stockton State College, has completed her internship and six-month training program at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Brunswick, Ga. She has been designated as a special agent in the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Internal Revenue Service and is currently assigned to the U.S. Treasury Department’s office in Mays Landing.
