   The next Mansfield Township Committee meeting will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Mansfield Township Municipal building located on East Main Street. For more information please call 609-298-0542.

   The Mansfield Township 12th annual tree lighting ceremony will be held on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 6 p.m. The MTES band will be performing holiday music selections and the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts will be singing holiday carols. Come out to enjoy this festive tradition to the start of the holiday season.

   The Bordentown Ballet Theatre will perform the Nutcracker on Sunday, Dec. 6. The show will take place at the Burlington Township Performing Arts Center. Show times are 1 and 5 p.m. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased at the door.

   The Mansfield Township Recreation Committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 15, at 8 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Mansfield Township Municipal building located on Main Street in Columbus. All interested residents are invited to attend.

   The Columbus Home and School Association will hold a meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 16, at 8 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Media Center at the Mansfield Township Elementary School on Mansfield Road East. All interested members of the community are invited to attend.

   Burlington County Chapter of Hadassah will meet on Tuesday, Dec. 15, at Temple Har Zion, High and Ridgway streets, Mount Holly. Following the business meeting at 1 p.m., Arlene Butler Feldman, formerly the Federal Aviation Administration’s Eastern Regional Administrator, will be the guest speaker. An attorney and pilot, she has earned a place in the N.J. Aviation Hall of Fame as well as the Women in International Aviation Pioneer Hall of Fame, and has received the Presidential Rank Award for meritorious service in the area of aviation education.    Leaf pickup: As a service to our residents, free mandatory clear biodegradable leaf bags should be picked-up at the Clerk’s Office Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or Saturday mornings, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Recycling Area in the Municipal Parking Lot if you plan on placing leaves curbside for collection.
   For your convenience, curbside collection of these clear biodegradable leaf bags will be provided by our Public Works Department on the following dates only: Wednesday, Dec. 16. All leaf bags must be curbside by 6 a.m.

   The Columbus Home and School Association is sponsoring Mom’s Night Out on Friday, Dec. 4, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the Mansfield Township Elementary School. Cost for vendor is $25 (8-foot space). $30 if an 8-foot table is needed. Tables are limited and on a first come first serve basis.    The eighth annual holiday light tour is planned for the village of Columbus on Saturday, Dec. 5. The wagon rides will tour the village from 6 to 8 p.m, leaving the municipal park approximately every 15 minutes. Tickets for the ride are $5 per person (3 and under are free) and they will be available at the concession stand starting at 5:30 p.m. A bonfire will be keeping everyone warm in the park while enjoying hot chocolate or coffee and cookies. Entertainment will include karaoke plus entertainment by our own residents. More information will be forthcoming.

   Residents of the village of Columbus are asked to decorate their homes for the holiday by the evening of Dec. 5. This year luminary bags with a candle will be offered to the residents for $1. The bags will present a special look if placed in driveways or walkways. Luminaries may be purchased by contacting Gail Allison at 324-0075 or at the clerk’s office in the municipal complex. Resident’s and friends are invited to participate in the musical program around the campfire, contact the Clerk’s Office at 298-0542, ext. 19 to express interest.
