• The 2010 official tax list of Jackson Township will be available for public inspection between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Dec. 18. The office of the tax assessor is in the Jackson municipal building, 95 West Veterans Highway, Jackson.

A living nativity will be held at Jackson United Methodist Church, 68 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson, Dec 18 at 7:30 p.m. (rain date: Dec 19). All are invited to attend. The cost is a nonperishable food item to be donated to the Jackson Food Pantry.

A pancake breakfast hosted by the Jackson Jackals Youth Ice Hockey team will be held Dec. 19 at the Millstone Elks Club, 22 Burnt Tavern Road, Clarksburg. First seating will be at 9 a.m. and the second seating will begin at 10:45 a.m. Photos and crafts with Santa and his elves will be available in addition to NHL signed hockey sticks, pucks and jerseys. Dontations of nonperishable food will be accepted on behalf of the Jackson Food Pantry. Cost for breakfast: $10; $5 for children ages 5-12; free under age 5.

A light and sound performance of the birth of Jesus will be held at the DeBows United Methodist Church at 6 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. Dec. 19. Live animals will be part of the presentation and refreshments will be served. The church is at the intersection of Route 537 and Route 571, Jackson. All are welcome. Details: 732-928-4475.

The Howell Historical Society, 427 Lakewood-Farmingdale Road, Howell, will hold its annual holiday open house from 1- 4 p.m. Dec. 19. All are welcome to attend at no charge. Details: 732-919-7036.

The Jackson Mills Volunteer Fire Company Station No. 54 will hold its annual Santa Patrol for Fire District No. 4 of Jackson beginning at 10 a.m. Dec. 19.

“A Festival of Lessons and Carols” will be presented at 3 p.m. Dec. 20 at Holy Family Church, 1141 E. County Line Road, Lakewood. All ages are invited to attend the service of scripture and song that dates to the late 19th century. Details: 732-363-0139, ext. 411.

Clowning Around with Macaroni Anne Cheeze will feature face painting, balloon art, storytelling and activities for children ages 2-6 and their families and grandparents at 10 a.m. Dec. 29 at the Jackson library, 2 Jackson Drive.
