NORTH HANOVER — Two men were shot in a home invasion Wednesday evening, a spokesman for the Burlington County prosecutor’s office has confirmed.
The men were shot in a Meany Road residence where they both live at 5:12 p.m., the spokesman said.
Ramero Gonzales, 28, was hit three times in his legs, according to the prosecutor’s office spokesman, while Tiburcio Moreno, 30, was shot in the pelvis. The spokesman said both men were taken to Capital Health Fuld Hospital, Mr. Moreno by air, and Mr. Gonzales was treated and released while Mr. Moreno was listed in stable condition Thursday after undergoing surgery.
The spokesman said no arrests had been made as of Thursday afternoon.
“As far as I know it was an isolated incident; it’s not a common occurrence over here,” said Deputy Mayor Bill Tilton, who last year served as police commissioner. “The issue is that this kind of stuff can happen in any town, anywhere. We’re dealing with people, and with people come unexpected or unpredictable actions.”
Mr. Tilton confirmed Friday the investigation was ongoing.
