Mr. Olsen, 74, of Sayreville, died Dec. 20, 2009, at Cranbury Center, Monroe. Before his retirement in 1994, he was employed by the Sayreville Police Department, retiring as a detective, and prior to that, he was a police officer with the Middlesex County Park Police. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Olsen was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Trzoniec Olsen, in May, and a brother, Wesley Olsen, in 1999. Surviving are his children and their spouses, Thomas and Lori Olsen of Sayreville, and Doreen and Steven Laskiewicz of Jackson; his sisters, Gladys Rzepka and her husband, Donald, of South Amboy, and Mary Jane Eberle Jones of Sayreville; a sister-in-law, Marie Olsen of Sayreville; and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville, followed by a private cremation.
