In the Service

Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Rachel E. Hodge, daughter of Salley Hodge of Island Heights and Ernest Hodge of Jackson, graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an Associate in Applied Science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Army National Guard Spc. Andres F. Lux, son of Gustavo E. and Nancy E. Lux of Lakewood, is returning to the United States after a deployment in the Iraq theater of operations, serving in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is an aircraft power train repairer and a member of Company A, 1st Battalion, 150th Attack Helicopter Battalion in Trenton. He has served in the military for two years.
