GirlScouts Celebrate Birthday

By MarionSampaio
Junior Girl Scout trrop 94252 fromFranklin Township, Warren County, celebrated Girl Scout Week by creating a wall display at their elementary school.  Each girl (and leaders too) researched a famous woman who was a girl scout and wrote a short paragraph on her, added photos, and interspersed photos of their troop activities to create tehir display.  At the center of the display was a photo and paragraph on Juliette Low, the founder of Girl Scouting in America in March 1912.  Before putting their display together, the girls each read their biographies and the troop discussed the leadership qualities each woman possesses.  The girls were surprised at some of the famous women who were once girl scouts.  The display will remain up at the school until the girls replace it with a display about their Bronze Award project.  The girls in the troop, all fifth graders at Franklin Township School, are (l-r in photo): Holly Grobholz, Isabella Corvelli, Alexsis Maren, Gabi Kaczynski, Emily Smith, Cassidy Duncan and Jianna ALmeida.  Their leaders are Sandi Duncan and Marion Sampao, Cassidy’s mom and grandmom.
