Mr. Johnson, 49, of Howell, died March 5, 2010. He grew up in Little Silver and was a former merchant mariner. Mr. Johnson worked as a boat captain for the Circle Line’s Statue of Liberty Ferry for more than 25 years. Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Joanne Morgan Johnson; three sons, Brian J. Kevin D. and Daniel J.; two brothers, Ralph Johnson and his wife, Karin, of Monmouth Beach and Douglas Apy of Shrewsbury; his grandmother, Frances Rada of Shrewsbury; his stepmother, Maryann Johnson of Statesville, N.C.; and an uncle.
