The Princeton Borough Council gave approval Tuesday night for the planting of 2,000 perennial plants in newly-renovated Harrison Street Park.
The council approved going forward with the $30,000 plantings after receiving a report from Borough Engineer Christopher Budzinski that a meeting this past Saturday with park neighbors, the park’s landscape architect and himself had been successful in coming to an agreement on the plantings.
”We agreed to plant seven different areas with herbaceous plants,” Mr. Budzinski said. “We also agreed on the path material so that was also a success.”
Decomposed granite would be used for park paths, he said.
”Everyone there was in agreement on the areas being planted,” Mr. Budzinski said.
At its April 27 meeting, the council had agreed to the $30,000 planting outlay at the park — whose $485,500 renovation is nearing completion — but wanted assurances all interested parties were in agreement on the location of the plantings and neighbors were committed to helping water and care for the perennials in their critical first year.
