Helen M. Cannon

Mrs. Cannon, 78, of Jacobstown, died July 5, 2010. A native of Chicago, Ill, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mundelein College in Illinois and her Master of Arts in education from the University of Southern California. She worked in education for over 40 years, retiring as a teacher at St. Mary’s Catholic School in Bordentown. She was predeceased by her husband, Matthew M. Cannon, who was a retired major in the U.S. Air Force; and a sister, Peggy Kolba. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Kathy Cannon of Freehold, and Michael and Theresa Cannon of Howell; two daughters and sons-in-law, Christine and Norman Bright of Pembroke Pines, Fla., and Denise and Richard Poulillo of Howell; a sister, Patti Blackwood of Chicago; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A funeral Mass was celebrated at The Church of the Assumption, New Egypt, followed by interment at the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover, Burlington County. Arrangements were by the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township.
