Eatontown Recreation is hosting a free Halloween celebration and haunted house from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Oct. 16 at the library, 33 Broad St. For younger children there will be a non-scary Halloween display and a haunted Halloween walk for older children. Dress in your costume.

Clean Ocean Action (COA) invites citizens and organizations to participate in the 25th annual fall beach sweeps from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 23, rain or shine. The sweeps will be held at 70 sites along the New Jersey Coast. Groups of 10 or more are requested to preregister to ensure adequate supplies are on hand. A Candidates Night for Monmouth County candidates will be held 7:30-9 p.m. Oct. 26 at Woodmere School, 65 Raleigh Court, Eatontown. Each candidate will have the opportunity to talk, followed by a question and-answer session. Questions will be asked by the moderator or submitted in writing by the audience. The event is sponsored by the Woodmere Civic Association (WCA).
