Skate with Josh to End Hydrocephalus

“Skate With Josh to End Hydrocephalus,” a charity fundraiser, will be held Saturday, Oct. 30, starting at 10 a.m. Participants will rollerblade from the Acme shopping center on Route 71 and Taylor Avenue in Manasquan to Allaire State Park in Wall.

Josh Stein, of Eatontown, has been treated for hydrocephalus since he was 21 months old. The disorder entails abnormal accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid within the brain.

The format will be a relay back and forth between the sites, which are five miles apart, for a total of 50 miles.

The fundraiser is being organized by Coach Oktay Armagan, a Jackson native, of Armageddon Ice Inc., which offers hockey clinics and lessons.

There is a $10 fee to join a team; teams of five may also join. Drinks and snacks will be provided. Signed NHL and NFL memorabilia will be raffled. For more information, including how to sponsor a team, email [email protected].
