Claire M. (Walsh) Taggart

Mrs. Taggart, 92, a resident of Aberdeen for 64 years, died Oct. 11, 2010, at Bayshore Health Care, Holmdel. She was employed as a clerk in the credit department of Macy’s, Menlo Park, retiring in 1993. During World War II, Mrs. Taggart worked making transistor radios for soldiers. She was a communicant of St. Joseph RC Church, Keyport, and a member of the Keyport Seniors. Mrs. Taggart was predeceased by her husband, Thomas J. Taggart, in 1994; five brothers and sisters; and two nephews, Scott Whitman and Raymond Ford. Surviving are her children, Thomas J. Taggart II of Aberdeen, Michael J. Taggart of Virginia, Claire Catherine Smith of Florida and David P. Taggart of Jackson; a sister, Anna May Whitman of Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joseph RC Church, Keyport. Interment followed at Cloverleaf Cemetery, Woodbridge. The Day Funeral Home, Keyport, handled the arrangements.
