On Dec. 3, the Centenary United Methodist Church at 108 N. Union St., Lambertville, will hold a ziti dinner from 5-7 p.m. The meal will consist of salad, baked ziti, bread, dessert and beverages. The proceeds will benefit the roof restoration fund.
Food pantry
The Lambertville Food Pantry at St. John’s provides food for the needy every Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon. For more information, call 609-638-7888.
Blood drives
New Jersey Blood Services is conducting blood drives, open to the public, on Dec. 3 at Hunterdon Polytech Career Academy, 10 Junction Road, Flemington, from 7:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.; and on Dec. 13 at Flemington Elks Lodge, Route 31, Flemington from 2:30-8:30 p.m.
Blanket Gift Giveaway slated
The Native American Alliance of Bucks County (NAABC) is hosting a Native American Blanket Gift Giveaway on Dec. 11 from 5-7 p.m. at Jackson House on the property of Buckingham Friends School, 5854 York Road, Lahaska. The event is a Pot Luck Dinner. The evening will end with selecting gifts from a Native American blanket. Bring a meal and an unwrapped gift to share. Children are especially welcome for the winter community celebration. The Jackson House is located on the school grounds. Enter via the entrance from Route 263, where the school buses drop off children. If the lot is full, park in the parking lot at Peddler’s Village. Attention: Lambertville
The Public Works Department has begun its third leaf collection. In the city, residents may bag leaves and place them at the normal garbage pickup place. Connaught Hill, Cottage Hill and Music Mountain residents may sweep them to the curb and the leaf vacuum will pick them up. The street sweeper will operate (weather permitting and excluding city holidays) through Dec. 10.
Share the warmth
The Community Kitchen of Centenary UMC is conducting its "Share the Warmth" coat and winter clothing drive. Donations may be brought to Community Kitchen meals or deposited in the drop box in front of the church located at 108 N. Union St., Lambertville.
Dog Days calendar
The sixth Dog Days of Lambertville 2011 calendar, a community institution, has arrived in local shops. The calendar’s canine photos and tales are as charming – and in some cases as moving – as always. All profits from the sale of the calendars will also once again be donated to local animal charities. The calendar is available for purchase at the following establishments for $12. In Lambertville: Rojo’s, Sojourner, Blue Raccoon, Tirpok Cleaners, Homestead Farm Market, Lambertville Animal Clinic, Picky Paws, Hamilton Grill; and Stockton: Heads Up; and in New Hope: New Hope Pet Center. Basketball registration
Lambertville Basketball Association registration is open for the upcoming season. The LBA is a recreational league open to boys and girls in grades one-six. The LBA is for all levels of players.
