Mr. Drake, 88, of Meyersdale, Pa., died Dec. 10, 2010. He had resided in Hazlet before moving to Pennsylvania 27 years ago. Mr. Drake worked as a rigger/mechanic with Anaconda Copper Works, Perth Amboy, for 28 years, retiring in 1973. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion in Meyersdale, Pa. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and in the U.S. Army Air Force. He was predeceased by his first wife, Adelfa A. Drake, in 1982; two children, Nancy A. Panaro and Stanley E. Drake Jr.; and two brothers, Charles and Richard Herriger. Surviving are his wife, Lillian Drake; his children and their spouses, Ross Drake of Highlands, Linda and George Bosley of Jackson, and Don and Kathleen Drake of Hazlet; a brother, Russell Drake of Utah; a sister, Virginia Underhill of Kansas; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his extended family in Meyersdale. A memorial service was held at the Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
